4TH ANNUAL IDEA CONFERENCE:
This year’s Conference will focus on management issues in Industrial Distribution – particularly those due to the rapidly growing influence of outsourcing, globalization, consolidations and M&A activity. However, other topics will also be considered for inclusion. Here is a partial listing of possible topics:

Papers, which are not limited to the above topics, can be conceptual, theoretical, empirical, or case studies, and will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in full in a CD of Proceedings at the conference. However, in order to be published, at least one of the authors registers for the IDEA Conference and presents the paper.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CRITERIA:
Submit an abstract in English, 200 words maximum, in MS Word, via email. Include a cover sheet in the MS Word document with the first author's name, affiliation, full address, phone number, e-mail, co-author's name/s and e-mail, title of paper.
FULL PAPER SUBMISSION CRITERIA & GUIDELINES:
Submitted papers must not have previously been presented or published elsewhere. Selected papers that are submitted may be published in a special issue of a refereed journal (e.g. The Journal of Marketing Channels).
¨ Papers and abstracts will be ‘blind’ reviewed (authors should avoid revealing their identity in the paper).
¨ Submitted papers must be in English, 20 pages maximum, and in MS Word format. Use 12 point Times New Roman typescript throughout, with one inch margins all around.
¨ Manuscripts should be double spaced and should include (in the following order): Cover Sheet, Title, Abstract (approximately 100 – 150 words), Keywords/Phrases (up to 10), Introduction, Text, Acknowledgements, References and Notes.
¨ The Cover Sheet should include: the Title; Authors name(s) and Affiliation(s) (including full addresses and e-mail addresses); and Biographical notes (100 – 150 words per author).
¨ Papers should not have been previously published, accepted for publication or under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.
¨ Notification of Acceptance will be sent out no later than Friday, October 06, 2006.
¨ Full Papers are due by Friday, December 01, 2006. By the same date, for papers to be included in the Conference Proceedings, at least one author must register and pay the necessary fee by.
¨ Detailed guidelines for preparing the manuscript on diskette will be sent to authors of accepted papers, by the Proceedings Editor.
¨ Camera-ready copy of the final draft of an accepted paper should be sent to the Proceedings editor before Friday, December 29, 2006.
¨ Proceedings will be published on CD-ROM, which will be mailed after the conference.
REFERENCES & NOTES:
¨ Please use a numbering system in which references and notes are placed in the same sequence.
¨ In the text, a reference is indicated by a number in square brackets, e.g. [3] (this system avoids footnotes). Full references and short notes should then be placed in numerical order at the end of the text.
¨ References should be made only to works that are published, accepted for publication, or available through libraries or institutions. Any other source should be qualified by a note regarding availability.
¨ Full references should include all author names, year of publication, title of paper, title of publication (italicized), volume and issue number (of a journal), publisher and form (book, conference proceedings), page numbers. See the sample citation given below:

¨ Notes, if included, should make a specific point, and be short and succinct.
¨ All illustrations, are referred to as Figures and are numbered sequentially, and placed in the text as closely as possible, after their first mention.
¨ Similarly, all Tables should be numbered sequentially and placed in the text as soon as feasible after their first mention.
CONFERENCE FORMAT:
The conference will be organized within the Federation of Business Disciplines (FBD) Conference held in San Diego. The IDEA Conference is tentatively planned as a traditional two and one-half day conference with two sessions in the morning and two sessions in the afternoon. The conference will end at noon of the third day.
The major part of the conference will be sessions consisting of papers that are chosen from competitive submissions. Additionally, depending on the interest expressed by attendees and sponsors, the conference may also include special sessions, panels, and/or workshops.
The Conference registration fee will include a copy of the Conference Proceedings on CD (to be mailed after the conference). At least one author must be registered and must present at the conference for each paper accepted. PLEASE NOTE: Only those papers presented by an author at the Conference will be included in the Proceedings.
One award will be given to recognize paper writing excellence. A selected group of accepted submissions that are presented at the conference will be invited to offer their papers for consideration for publication in the Journal of Marketing Channels.
